Salus was running its core systems on hardware that was approaching the end of its life. Replacing it in the server room would have meant a large capital purchase and the same problem again in five years.
What we did
We planned and executed a migration to Microsoft Azure, moving servers, applications and data across in stages so claims processing never stopped. Backup, recovery and monitoring were rebuilt for the new environment rather than carried over.
We also right-sized the resources after the move, so the business is not paying cloud prices for capacity it had only ever provisioned because hardware came in fixed sizes.
The result
No more hardware refresh cycle, a recovery position that is genuinely tested, and infrastructure that scales with the business instead of being replaced by it.
